Being able to do basic work in Excel or Google Sheets. Understanding data. Creating a simple chart. Doing basic calculations.<\/p>\n
In today’s jobs, no matter what department you’re in, you can’t work without technology. Those who are digitally confident move forward fast. Those who are scared fall behind.<\/p>\n
There are two types of people in the job market.<\/p>\n
Type one: They work when the boss tells them. Need step-by-step instructions. Get stuck when faced with a slightly different problem.<\/p>\n
Type two: They understand the problem and find solutions themselves. Google it if needed, ask someone if needed, but they figure it out.<\/p>\n

“I can’t do this” versus “I’ll learn this”\u2014the difference between these two mindsets contains your entire career trajectory.<\/p>\n
Getting hired doesn’t mean you know everything. Staying hired means you can learn quickly. Remember that.<\/p>\n
Those who learn fast get promoted fast. Those who fear learning stay stuck in the same place.<\/p>\n
What do bosses value most? Ownership and reliability.<\/p>\n
Ownership means being able to say, “This is my responsibility.” Not just doing assigned tasks, but taking initiative.<\/p>\n
Reliability means meeting deadlines. Doing tomorrow what you said today. Having the habit of finishing work.<\/p>\n

Emotional intelligence means understanding your own emotions and others’. Knowing what to say when, and how to say it. Working with people is the key to your career.<\/p>\n

No, degrees matter. But here’s the balanced truth:<\/p>\n
Meaning, degrees open doors. Skills get you inside and move you forward.<\/p>\n
The ideal combination is building skills alongside getting your degree. Then you become a complete package.<\/p>\n
Now the question is\u2014how do you build these skills?<\/p>\n
1. Take selective online courses.<\/strong> You don’t need every course. Just the ones that align with your goals. Coursera, Udemy, YouTube\u2014plenty of resources available.<\/p>\n 2. Do internships, freelancing, or volunteer work.<\/strong> Even if it’s small, that’s fine. Do something. Learning isn’t complete without practical experience.<\/p>\n 3. Start personal projects.<\/strong> Write a blog. Start a YouTube channel. Launch a small business. Anything\u2014as long as you’re learning from it.<\/p>\n 4.
